    Sloveso take použijeme nielen vtedy, ak je reč o dopravnom prostriedku, ale i keď máme na mysli spôsob cestovania vo všeobecnosti. Napr.: take the stairs - ísť po schodoch, take the highway - ísť po diaľnici, take a shortcut - ísť skratkou ap. Fráza: Do you take sugar? - zodpovedá slovenskému Sladíte? (cukrom). Môžete odpovedať napríklad: I don't take sugar (in my coffee) - (Kávu si) nesladím. Môžete povedať tiež len: No sugar for me.
